INSPIRATION...
This project was for my YouTube channel. As a big fan of the 70s aesthetic, I wanted to create a brand inspired by visuals and music from that era.
The story behind the bodyless skater was from a phone call I had with my mom one day when I was out skating. She asked, "What're you up to?" to which I replied, "skrt skrt". She had never heard of this phrase before and asked, "What?!? You're out wearing a chima (skirt in Korean)"? After explaining what the phrase meant, the phone call ended with her saying "Whatever, chimaboi, I'll see you later".

MUSIC...
When creating any video/animation, it makes sense to me to always base the visuals off the audio. I produced a short track in Ableton that had a chill vibe that could sound like it was a track from the 70s.
ANIMATION...
I knew I wanted a hand drawn feel to the animation. However, as a person that can't draw, I had a friend film me pushing on my longboard. And yes, I wore a skirt out in public and got a bunch of weird looks.
After getting the footage I wanted, I traced over each frame and created an illustrated frame.
From there, I created a background and added filters for the final video.
